About the workshop
In this workshop Landman guides a group of participants in their process to create a unique instrument of their own design. Based on the famous geometric abstract paintings by Malevich Landman found a way to enhance the sounds of strings by crossing them. The sounds of these clustered strings can be compared to Chinese gongs, Gamelan bells and spooky metallic sounds often occuring in scary movies. Each participant makes his own sets of crossed strings, resulting in an abstract sound plate sculpture. The instrument is electric, so can be plugged into a guitar amp for maximum sound pressure!
