A/V2V: Companion Cube is an interdisciplinary audiovisual project that connects local and foreign VJs with local music producers in the process of joint creation of new AV compositions. The project is based on collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the intertwining of different artistic practices, exploring the connection between sound, space, and mapped video projection. Artists have prepared original visualizations based on a coordinated proposal and pre-recorded sets of original music. The central element of the project is a three-dimensional cube-shaped structure designed as a physical platform for video mapping and a symbolic space for joint creative collaboration, a contemporary interpretation of the Companion Cube.
The event, coordinated by Stella Ivšek with the support of the BEAM TEAM collective, represents an upgrade of the A/V2V series and consolidates its role as an open platform for connecting, producing, and reflecting on visual and sound art practices.
Artists
Amadej Plesničar (BubblesFractals) began his artistic journey in 2017 as a self-taught creator and gradually expanded his work across various media. He deepened his exploration of generative visuals as a resident VJ at Klub K4, followed by several collaborations with the Svetlobna Gverila festival. His visual style is recognized for its cyber-solarpunk aesthetic and his original visualizations, created in TouchDesigner, are generated in real-time and reactive to music. He is a member of the BEAM TEAM collective.
Benjamin Ramsmaier aka VJ Monkeyman (AT) is a visual artist based in Linz. His live sets are optical assaults — loud, dirty, and unapologetically real, turning the venue into a barrel of monkeys. Nothing polished, nothing safe — just pure visual rebellion. VJ Monkeyman doesn’t follow the show — he detonates it. Also, he wants to be taken seriously as an artist.
Farah Sara Kurnik (Liara T’Soni) is a Ljubljana-based visual artist working in the fields of graphic and industrial design, scenography, video, 3D design, and new technologies. She has designed numerous visual identities for Slovenian and international musicians, music events, and exhibitions, often also acting as a VJ. She is a member of the Ljubljana-based collective Nimaš izbire.
Špela Čekada is primarily a light technician but she is starting to discover the world of visuals as well. She began her creative path as an actress, but later moved behind the scenes to explore audio, costume design, and eventually, lights. She now creates lighting for concerts, DJ sets, theatre plays and cabarets. Špela enjoys experimenting with retro and geometric visuals and helping out at festivals.
Urša Čuk (rastrLAB) is a visual and intermedia artist working as a freelancer in the fields of AV installations, projections, and animation. As a VJ, she creates visuals at concerts and DJ events. Her work has been showcased at festivals, such as Sonica and Svetlobna gverila, as well as in theatre and dance productions. Since 2024, she has been an active member of the BEAM TEAM collective.
Neža Knez (knnz) is active as a VJ and visual artist, collaborating with collectives such as BEAM TEAM, tetameta, and Uryan, and was also part of Nimaš izbire. Her multidisciplinary practice combines CGI, animation, and music. Her work has appeared at Svetlobna gverila, DNBK, Keep in Mind, and exhibitions at Dobravaga, MGBS, Kino Šiška, and TAM-TAM. In 2022, she co-created an AR visualization for Kino Šiška.
Mojca Krivec is currently finishing her MA in visual communication design and works as a graphic designer, while also entertaining her inner Jack-of-all-trades. Her default mode is collecting small details she finds interesting, intending to later stitch them together – regardless of the medium. It’s been about a year since she first shook hands with VJ-ing, and she’s slowly finding her footing in the world of live visuals.
Gregor Mesec (VJ MESEC) is a Ljubljana-based visual artist who creates immersive visual experiences using live visuals, LED screens, video mapping, and light installations. He works with generative visuals, 3D animation, projections, and digital scenography for concerts, festivals, theatre productions, and corporate events such as conferences, congresses, and promotional gatherings, bringing spaces to life through dynamic visual engagement.
Jerca Oblak is an intermedia artist and graphic designer. Her creative work spans video, illustration, TV graphics, and animated film. She has presented her work at numerous film festivals and group exhibitions both in Slovenia and internationally. As a designer, she is credited with several recognizable graphic identities for RTV Slovenia.
Fulvio Sabia aka Virage (IT) has been redefining the intersection of moving images and sound since the early 2000s, evolving from lo-fi experiments with Amiga-commodore, VHS and vintage mixers into a distinct cinematic visual style. Collaborations span underground clubs and major festivals, working with international artists like Jeff Mills, Chris Liebing, Gilles Peterson, Greg Wilson, and DJ Hell. He is a member of the Artelettronica VJ collective.
Keun Kindred (IT) draws inspiration from the sacred School of Hokuto. He delivers explosive, high-energy visuals that immerse and overwhelm the audience, creating a unique fusion of refined technique and pure visual adrenaline. He is a member of the Artelettronica VJ collective.
Črt Trkman (Terranigma) is a music producer, sound designer, DJ, and intermedia technician who has been active in the electronic music scene for over a decade. Over the years, he has released music on various local labels and compilations. As an A/V technician, he collaborates regularly with the BEAM TEAM collective and V2V productions. He also created sound compositions for the interactive artwork The Grid (BEAM TEAM, 2021) and Portal installation (BEAM TEAM, 2023).
Grega Kalinski (Douchean) is a Slovenian music producer from Kranj, active in the underground electronic and avant-garde music scene. His sound is recognized for blending distorted synthesizers with elements of EBM, IDM, and ambient. His DJ sets often incorporate original compositions, resulting in cold, expressive soundscapes with a strong emotional charge and technically refined structures. He is affiliated with the music label DE/FRAGMENT.
