The first meeting of the REALISE Forum Slovenian National Desk has taken place on the 26th of May, 2005. A mailing list of major stakeholders has been composed, and REALISE Forum has been presented at conferences and meetings.
The Slovenian desk is composed by representatives of the main electricity producer HSE, electricity distributors, a company for small hydro plants, the Energy Agency (AGEN-RS, the Regulatory Authority and designated agency for certification of origin of energy), the consumers’ organisation, several consultants in energy, economics and renewables and the government.
The activities of the Slovenian desk will concentrate on the discussion of the following issues:
- Comparison of RES-E support schemes,
- Relationship between RES-E and the environment (is "renewable" = "green"?),
- A renewable strategy for Slovenia (realistic potentials for hydro, wind, biomass centralised vs. decentralised solutions),
- Current and future support schemes for "green electricity" and EU directive.
Two major national events are planned:
- "RES in Slovenia: for Protection of the Environment?"
- "Tradable Green certificates - a tool for achieving EU renewable goals?"
